Food.....so good. So bad. Anyone who is a fan of Oprah knows she has done a zillion shows on eating. Stress eating....girls we are notorious for it. My stress food...carbs...anything crunchy....I like to feel like I am gnashing things with my back molars, which would explain why my dentist the fabulous Dr. Jeff Macklan has given me a new night guard to try and keep my teeth and jaw from contacting each other during the night...And ladies, nothing sets the scene for love and seduction in the bedroom then a giant mouth guard that makes me looks like a right winger for the Habs. That's right; who's sexy?! Not me!
So my fabulous trainers from THT http://totalhometraining.com/ had me meet Jerry Delicato who is a nutritionist and has a company called Studio Gym Mobile at 514-712-1378. Jerry works with professional athletes, Olympians and everyday people like you and me. I knew what he was going to tell me before he sat down at my dining room table. The "h" word was going to be uttered. Hormones. Unfortunately when you reach a certain age they do play against you and your weight. Women love to be called hormonal. Ha! Not! So Jerry wanted to get my body back in balance and running like it should...and not only had my body been inactive...according to Doctors I have a sluggish Liver!
Great! Jerry! Make it happen. Once he saw what a typical day was for me food wise, he changed it. I asked him "What do you mean cheese and crackers aren't good at 11pm"? Don't they do that in France? Party Pooper.
Good carbs means vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans but no white carbs like bread, pasta - yes the good stuff! Lean protein like chicken, beef, turkey...and if you are vegan you can eat lots of lentils, tofu etc. I am not a Vegan, I am a full cave woman, my apologies to my vegan friends. The good fat is the key. I want you to take a second and look up the benefits of Coconut Oil, that's the latest thing I have been adding to my food it is amazing.. Here are a few things on my shopping list, almonds, almond butter, Greek yogurt, cold pressed olive oil, avocados, these are all the good fats.
So here is the key; 80 percent of your body will change just by what you put in your mouth. Guaranteed. I have transformed my body in 6 weeks. It has not been easy, I have been cranky, grumpy, irritable. They took my wine away, my coffee and my pasta.....but I have survived and I have more energy and look better than ever. Are you with me?
